Matter
shaped for living
FURBISHURE® works with mica, glass, wood, metals, and light to create objects to live with, materials to build with, and artifacts to discover.

Questions are welcome—whether you have a project, are interested in a piece, or simply want to begin a conversation. Your note reaches Micah directly.
One practice
Many forms
Founded in 2017 by designer Micah Heimlich, FURBISHURE® grew from the objects, materials, and inventions developed alongside architectural work at unHeim.
The practice moves between furnishings, lighting, architectural materials, fine art, and usable sculpture. Across every scale, the material remains visible and its natural behavior becomes part of the work.
Made to be lived with,
built with, and discovered
Objects for living
Objects with an inner life
Furnishings, lighting, rugs, and usable sculpture that bring invention into daily life.
Materials for building
Light held inside matter
InterMica glass and architectural surfaces that make material an active part of space.
Artifacts for collecting
Geology as image and memory
Mica paintings, mineral compositions, and objects that reward a second look.
The material
sets the terms
Mica cleaves and glows. Glass catches, bends, and holds light. Wood records weather and time. Each project begins with these inherent qualities, then gives them form.
A design practice built through experiment
Micah Heimlich works across architecture, objects, materials, and art. FURBISHURE® is where those investigations become tangible: a pane of glass that holds light like a gemstone, a lamp that resembles a discovered organism, or an everyday object made newly strange.
